How to use pinterest for marketing

Hi guys!

Few days ago I heard about the latest social media tool, Pinterest. So I did a bit of research and found that despite being relatively new to the show, it is one of the coolest and best things that had ever hit the social media board.

Using pinterest you can create some of the best and coolest and visually appealing graphics and tell your audience about your likes and interests or even products. When it comes to giving a lot of information quickly and in a single glance, nothing is best then pinterest. You might have heard the term "infographics", well combine infographics with power of social media and you have the Pinterest!
I was actually so obsessed with pinterest that i actually created my account and a board there.
If you want to see how i used this great tool for my puppets just click on this link :

Now let us discuss in detail how to use pininterest for marketing. For those who are in a hurry and want to grasp the idea quickly, please scroll down to the bottom, I placed an infographic there that would kind of quickly summarize the whole thing.

Let’s look at the inner scheme of Pinterest. It’s a huge virtual pinboard that allows people to look through interesting stuff, pin them and and leave comments below what was pinned. But we have to look deeper to see the real significance of this technology. What is Pinterest famous for? The great selling point of Pinterest that wins people over are its cool and captivating pictures. We are visual creatures and we love to look at beautiful pictures of people, nature, food, scenery, etc. On Pinterest, we pin what we like to see, and other people pin what they like to see. The trick here is to let your visuals get pinned as often as possible.

Every pin is a link to the source of the image, usually an external site – in this case, a link to your site. So every repin of the image can lead readers in a straight road back to your site. Talk about a crowd puller. Users who are searching for data may click on a nice-looking image, arrive at your website and may be converted from a simple passerby to the future customer and hopefully loyal fan. Moreover, if your pins are eye-catching and worthwhile, they may be repined by other pinners or even be embedded on your fans’ sites or blogs.

To gain confidence and loyalty you should neatly build your following on Pinterest. First of all, you have to create a good-looking account. It doesn’t matter if you activate the profile with your own name or with your company brand. But remember, people are more inclined to believe and follow individuals, not so much for companies, unless they are very popular and well-known brands.

You can tie your profile to the email which is used for your Twitter account, so you can quickly share pins in both social networks. To increase visibility, on your Profile picture, check ‘Hide your Pinterest profile from search engines’ and be sure that it’s ‘Off’. This will allow your page to be indexed in a search. Don’t forget to add the Pinterest social media button to your website, blog or portfolio and your Pinterest signature to your email These two tiny, but significant gestures will help you in promotion and to build your fan base.

I hope you guys liked my post. Please give your comments at the end, that would be highly appreciated. I have spent hours writing and publishing this post, and your comments are the only thing that would help me keep  going.
Oh in case you forgot, here is what I have been doing with Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/junglejoe11/boards/

For Ventriloquists: How to change your voice

For a ventriloquist its very important to change the voice and have a distinct and different voice for each character. Today i am going to show you some of the tips that would help you change your voice according to your characters.

You can make it higher like Mickey Mouse type voice. (This is called a falsetto voice)
You can make it lower like Santa Claus. (Ho, Ho, Ho)
It can be gravely like Oscar the Grouch. (Hey, who knocked on my can?)
Sweet and soft like Snow White.
Bumpkin, like Goofy.

The most important thing is to make it different than your own. This will make your puppet stand out on its own. You also need to give your puppet a character. All that means is if your puppet likes baseball or dancing, camping or anything that you like. This will give your audience a good idea of your puppets character. Once you have created a character you then need to make it come alive by movement. This is also called manipulation. Your puppet needs to move like it's real. A good way to do this is to practice in front of a mirror or video camera. Make sure that the puppet is constantly moving in a natural motion. If you are looking in one direction have the puppet look in another direction. Make it look quickly to one side and open and close the mouth even if it's not saying anything. Move its body and arms as a real person would.

Once you have a good voice and good manipulation then its time to try ventriloquism.

The most important thing about ventriloquism is to try not to move your lips. There are ways to practice this, in our alphabet there are letters that make your lips come together. These letters are B-F-M-P-V-W.

If you place a pencil in between your lips and say the alphabet, these letters will make your upper and lower lips come together. Just try it.

Your feedback is extremely important to me, please leave a comment and tell me how you feel about this.
Thank you.

How to become an awesome ventriloquist

Being a ventriloquist, today I am going to share some of the best tips I have learned so far. Ventriloquism is the art of making an inanimate object seem to come alive. This article provides tips and instructions for becoming a good ventriloquist.

Learn to speak without moving your lips.
Hold a finger over your mouth as if trying to tell someone to be quiet. This will help prevent your lips from moving. Then, go through the alphabet. You'll notice that the letters "b," "f," "m," "p," "q," "v," and "w" will make your lips move. To say these without moving your lips, you must use substitutions. For "b," say "d" or "geh." For "f," say "th." For "m," say "n," "nah," or "neh." For "p," say "kl" or "t." For "q," say "koo." For "v," say "th." And for "w," say "ooh". You may think the new words with the substituted letters sound ridiculous, but if you learn to put the stress on the syllables that don't contain these letters, the words will begin to sound natural.

Change your voice.
A convincing "vent" voice must be very different from yours. Try to listen to yourself speak. Do you speak loudly or softly? Fast or slow? Do you have a low voice or a high voice? Try to make your partner's voice different from yours in all or most of these categories. To change your voice, you must use different functions in you body. For example, notice that when you speak and pinch your nose, your voice changes. One excellent way to help change your voice is to force air through your nose instead of your mouth when you speak. Another good way is to force the sound from deeper inside your throat, and also force the sound from the diaphragm. To force the sound, pretend you are about to cough. You'll notice that the muscles around your stomach will tighten. Now, using those muscles, try to speak. This will result in a deeper, raspier voice, which can also be handy, depending on what type of personality you want your partner to have.

Bring your new friend to life.
Decide what kind of partner you want. You must always make sure that his or her personality is different from your own, to give the illusion that you are not the same person. If you are a kind, responsible person, make your partner a mischievous jokester. Just choose something that will contrast your personality.

Try to find a dummy that will fit that character.
For example, if your imagined character is a young, energetic boy, don't pick a dummy that's an old man or a young lady. Make sure to pick the right partner for your needs.

Convince yourself that your partner is completely alive.
Once you've done this, it will be easier to convince an audience. Try to make sure that, from the moment you pick him or her up (take him or her out of his case, bed, etc.) and grab the controls, he or she is totally alive. Have him or her tell you stories about what he or she has been up to, where he or she goes to school, etc. Even though you are technically making this up, it will help you believe that there is life in your partner.

 Animate your partner properly.
There are many different control schemes for dummies, but a good, average one that is excellent for beginners and even for advanced vents is one with a moving head. Be careful while purchasing your dummy that you don't buy one with a string on the neck to operate the mouth. Buy one where you put your hand in the back, grab a stick attached to the head, and push a trigger to move the mouth. This is key when animating your partner. When your partner speaks, make sure his or her mouth moves with every syllable that he or she speaks. Also, keep your partner moving, even when you are speaking. This will make the audience think that he or she is real. Also, be sure to remember the amount that he or she is moving. If he or she is young and energetic, have his or her head move quickly and shake while he or she is speaking. If he or she is an older person or a sleepy child, have his or her head move slowly and not very much. Be sure that the head isn't moving too much while he or she speaks, or this will distract the audience from the actual speech. Try to observe real people as they speak, and have your partner mimic those movements.

 Have fun with it.
A big factor in being a good ventriloquist is having passion. You must always practice the art. Practicing every day will eventually make you a fantastic ventriloquist. You also don't have to practice only by sitting and speaking with your partner. Play games with your partner, watch TV with him or her, bring him or her to family get-togethers and have others meet him or her. Whether you are taking up ventriloquism for fun or for a career, make sure you are having fun with it. The illusion of life doesn't come easily, but you just have to believe in your friend to make him or her come alive.

Please give your valuable feedback in comments :)

How to make a Dog Balloon

The dog balloon is a fundamental sculpture in the art of balloon twisting and balloon animals. Many animals balloons such as the deer and giraffe are variations on the dog balloon. And you'll find that the basics that you master when twisting a dog balloon, will apply to more difficult balloon sculptures.

Inflate the balloon to about two inches from the end.

Twist three basic balloon twists. The first will be about two inches long, which will form the snout of the dog. The second and third twists will be smaller, about an inch each, to form the dog's ears.

Bring the first, longer twist against the main body of the balloon in preparation for a lock twist.
As mentioned on the last page, the first balloon segment (A), will form the snout of the dog. The second and third twists (B and C), will form the dog's ears. You'll be twisting B and C together while holding (A) and the main body of the balloon to create a lock twist.

Your balloon sculpture should now resemble the head of a dog.

Twist three basic balloon twists, each about three-inches. The first (A) will form the dog's neck. The second and third twists (B and C) will form the dog's front legs.

As you did with the dog's head, create a lock twist by twisting B and C and holding the rest.

Your twisted balloon sculpture should now resemble the front of a dog with its head and front legs.

Twist three basic balloon twists, each about three-inches. The first (A) will form the dog's body. The second and third twists (B and C) will form the dog's back legs. The final balloon segment (D) will form the dog's tail.

As you did with the dog's front legs create a lock twist by twisting segments B and C and holding the rest.

You have now twisted a basic dog balloon animal.

Thanks,
Jungle Joe! :)

The Magic Castle Review

If the world of magic has a center, it lies in a classy Victorian mansion in Hollywood that's known internationally as The Magic Castle. The Castle is many things: a showcase for the world's best magicians, headquarters for the Academy of Magical Arts and an exclusive club for magicians and fans of magic.
To visit the Castle, you must know a current member who can give you a guest pass, which gets you into the doors. Once you're in, you experience dinner and a full evening of magic that's presented in three different theaters and can consist of up to seven amazing acts.
 Magic in the Air
The Magic Castle itself is an elegant old house with a mysterious air. The labyrinth of hallways may bring to mind a graceful Winchester mansion, and the tradition of magic is everywhere. In one room, Irma, an invisible, ghostly piano player will play almost any tune you can think of, and answers your questions in humorous song. Also part museum, The Castle features areas that honor magic's best, including Blackstone and Dai Vernon, and there are magic and show biz relics on display.
You can see stage acts in the Palace of Mystery. Here, on any given night, you're bound to see a conjurer with birds, and two other magicians performing either a stand-up act or working with large-scale illusions. The Parlor of Prestidigitation offers stand-up magic, with two separate acts a night. Magicians here perform miracles with ropes, cards, rings, and more, and may blow you away with some amazing mind-reading. Finally, there's the intimate close-up gallery, where you can watch the cards, coins, and more as a magician works the table. Acts change weekly, and there are shows seven nights a week. And beyond the theaters, you're likely to catch magicians performing impromptu throughout the Castle.

10 best ways to expand your entertainment business using Facebook

Hello everyone! Today i would like to share some of the best methods to expand your entertainment business using Facebook. Facebook pages are a great way to attract visitors, increase your audience and then convert your visitors to buyers or customers. Now for that first you need to create a facebook business page which is a very simple process, in case you do not know how to create a facebook business page i will publish another post about how to do it. Okay, so let us come back to how to promote your entertainment business using your facebook page.
  1. Attract people, ask your friends and contacts to become fans
  2. I also recommend adding a Facebook "Like" box to your website. You can do so by going to Edit Page, Resources, Use Social Plugins and selecting Like Box. Fill in the fields and then click the Get Code button. After you copy the code and paste it into your company website, visitors can "Like" your Facebook page directly. Facebook's 'Social Plugins' section under 'Resources' has a number of useful tools for websites, too.
  3. After you start to grow your Facebook fan base, you can target a specific demographic. This may be the group most likely to become your fans--or you might want to focus on growing your customer base in other ways.
  4. Develop relationships with similar businesses. If you develop relationships with similar businesses on Facebook, they may provide information and useful links, or even refer people to your business and help in promoting it.
  5. Put your fan page URL in your email signature
  6. Write blog posts about your new fan page
  7. Ask your twitter and Google+ followers to join your fan page
  8. Put a fan page widget on your website or blog
  9. Put your fan page URL on your business cards
  10. Last and most important, keep your fan page updated!
